How much must you bet to cash out a bonus? Playthrough calculator in CAD
Plug in four numbers from the bonus terms and see the real size of the bet you owe the casino.
Total wagering equals the base amount times the multiplier, divided by the game's contribution rate. The base is the bonus alone or bonus plus deposit, depending on the terms. This calculator shows the result in Canadian dollars and as a multiple of your deposit.
"30x" is easy to read and hard to feel. Converted to dollars it becomes a concrete amount of betting, and often a lot more than people expect. For the whole shortlist in one place, open our online casinos for Canadians.

The formula with a worked example
Total wagering = base x multiplier / contribution.
Say a casino adds CAD 75 on a CAD 50 deposit, with a 30x requirement on the bonus. Played on slots at 100 per cent: 75 x 30 = CAD 2,250 in bets. If the requirement covers bonus plus deposit, the base is CAD 125 and the total becomes CAD 3,750. On a table game counting 10 per cent, the first case jumps to CAD 22,500.
Contribution: the number that changes everything
Every game has its own rate in the terms. Slots tend to count in full, tables count little, live games may count nothing, and some slots are blocked.
| Game | Often counts | Effect on CAD 2,250 of base wagering |
|---|---|---|
| Slots | 100% | CAD 2,250 |
| Card games | 0% to 20% | CAD 11,250 or more |
| Roulette | 0% to 20% | CAD 11,250 or more |
| Live dealer | 0% to 10% | CAD 22,500 or never completes |
These are typical ranges. Your offer may differ.
Four more clauses worth reading
- The highest bet allowed while the bonus runs.
- The deadline, from one day to a month.
- Games that are excluded and any ceiling on winnings.
- Whether the multiple applies to the bonus alone or to deposit plus bonus.
The wagering requirement guide goes through them, and the bonuses hub shows how offers are usually built.
Is the smaller multiple always the better deal?
Not necessarily. 20x with a 24-hour deadline can be harder than 40x with 30 days, and a low multiple on a tiny bonus may still not be worth the effort. Judge the total amount, the bet cap and the time together. The no deposit bonus page explains why those offers carry higher multiples.
Common questions
Is 40x a lot?
It is on the high side, but the base matters as much as the multiple. 40x on a CAD 20 bonus is CAD 800 of betting, while 25x on bonus plus a CAD 200 deposit is far more. Convert every offer into dollars, then ask whether that volume fits your budget and the deadline.
What if I withdraw before finishing?
Usually the bonus and any winnings from it are cancelled. A few casinos let you forfeit the bonus and keep your own deposit if it has not been wagered yet. This rule differs by operator, so find the clause on early withdrawal before you accept anything.
Can I use it for free spin winnings?
Yes. Free spin winnings often land as bonus money with their own multiple. Enter the winnings as the bonus and the multiplier shown in the terms. Also look for a maximum cashout on those winnings, which can be lower than the amount you actually wagered.
