What does your deposit really cost? Cashier fee calculator

Percentages and flat charges stack up fast when your bank, the provider and the casino all take a slice.

The short version

The true cost of a deposit is the sum of the casino fee, the payment provider fee, your bank's charge, any currency conversion surcharge and flat fees. This calculator adds them in Canadian dollars and shows the net amount credited, so you can compare payment methods before you pay.

"No deposit fee" on the casino page does not mean no cost. Your bank, the provider or a hidden exchange margin may still take a cut. The short version of all this sits on our real money casinos for Canadian players.

Currency: a cost you can avoid

When a casino keeps balances in euros or US dollars, your CAD gets converted with a spread. At a 2.5 per cent margin, CAD 300 loses CAD 7.50 on the way in and more on the way out. Choose a CAD wallet if offered, and ask your card issuer about foreign transaction fees.

Withdrawals follow the same maths

A flat CAD 4 fee on a CAD 25 withdrawal eats 16 per cent. Check minimums and the number of free withdrawals per month. Two pages help you compare: the payment methods table and the fast withdrawals comparison.

Using the answer

Run two or three methods with the same amount and pick the lowest total, then weigh speed and payout limits too. If you prefer small starts, see low minimum deposit casinos.

Adults only. The legal age is 19 in most provinces and 18 in Alberta, Manitoba and Quebec. Gambling carries real risk of loss. Set limits and stop when it stops being fun. This page is general information, not legal, tax or financial advice.

Common questions

Are deposits really free at Canadian casinos?

Many operators charge nothing, yet the provider or your bank might. Interac e-Transfer costs depend on your banking plan, for example. Read the cashier, check your bank's schedule and use this calculator to total everything before you confirm a payment.

Is there a charge to cash out?

It varies. Some casinos allow a few free withdrawals a month and charge after that. Others take a flat amount or a percentage. The terms list the amounts. On a small payout, a flat fee can swallow a large share, so check before you request money.

Are taxes part of the result?

No, the tool adds only the fees you type. For recreational players, casino winnings are generally not taxed in Canada, but crypto conversions can be. See the winnings tax guide and confirm your case with an accountant.
